Dr Nazim Uzzaman

Dr Nazim Uzzaman is a physician and applied health researcher with over 12 years of experience in the management of chronic respiratory diseases, particularly asthma and COPD. He earned his MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College and a PhD in asthma care from the University of Edinburgh, UK. His expertise was further strengthened through a prestigious RESPIRE Fellowship in COPD care under the NIHR Global Health Research Programme.

With more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and multiple awards for scientific excellence—including best oral and research presentation honours—Dr Uzzaman’s work centres on patient empowerment, personalised care, and the implementation of evidence-based practices in resource-limited settings. Alongside his clinical and research activities, he teaches in the Master of Family Medicine and Master of Public Health programmes and provides clinical and health research training across academic and professional platforms.
He is an active member of the European Respiratory Society, the International Primary Care Respiratory Group, the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology and the Global Burden of Disease Collaborator Network.
