Biography
Dr. Md. Shirajul Islam has completed his MBBS from Bangladesh Medical College in the year 2005. He is a dedicated medical professional with expertise in Respiratory diseases and Tuberculosis as he works closely with National TB Control Program (NTP) as a focal person for Multi Drug Resistant TB (MDR) at National Institute of Diseases of Chest and Hospital (NIDCH) to provide special care to the TB patient with assistance in scaling-up of different MDR TB treatment regimen.
He holds a FCGP and MPH from Dhaka University. He has undergone specialized training, including a Certificate Course on Diabetology (CCD) from BIRDEM, Diploma in Asthma under open university, UK and One-year Honorary training in Respiratory Medicine from NIDCH, Mohakhali, Dhaka.
With over 15 plus years of experience, Dr. Md. Shirajul Islam has served in various capacities. He worked in Apollo hospital Dhaka in Respiratory Department and also in Cardiology Department in Uttara Adhunik Medical College & Hospital. He attended The Union World Conference on Lung health every year to share his experiences and challenges of using new TB drugs with other country partners.
He is an optimistic person, patient friendly and empathetic doctor. He works effectively in a multidisciplinary team and has excellent knowledge about to prescribe medication to patients to treat a range of respiratory diseases. He wants to dedicated his knowledge and skill for the betterment of the patients.
